Why page speed matters for a small business
Most people who look up a plumber, a salon or a lunch spot do it on a phone, often while doing something else. If the page sits blank for a few seconds, a lot of them tap back and choose the next result. Speed is also one of the signals search engines look at when they rank pages, so a slow site can cost you visits before anyone sees it.
A small business site rarely needs to be heavy. It needs to show what you do, where you work, and how to get in touch. When it loads slowly, the cause is usually something that piled up over time, and most of it can be removed without changing how the site looks.
What usually slows a site down
- Photos uploaded straight from a camera or phone, then shrunk by the browser instead of the server
- Plugins and widgets that each add their own scripts: chat, reviews, popups, sliders, social feeds
- Several font families and weights, loaded from more than one place
- A page builder theme that sends code for every feature on every page
- Shared hosting far from your visitors, with no caching in front of it
- Tracking tags added over the years by different people, some for tools you no longer use
None of these is unusual, and none means the original builder did a bad job. Sites collect weight as features get added. A rebuild takes the weight back out.
Services
Speed rebuilds
For a site you like the look of that loads slowly. We keep the design and content and rebuild the parts that drag.
New websites
For a business with no site, or one that has outgrown it. Planned pages, fast from the first version.
Speed audits
For owners who have a developer, or want to fix things themselves. A written report, ranked by impact.
How we measure
We test with the same free tools anyone can use, such as Google PageSpeed Insights, plus a throttled phone connection, because that is closer to what a customer in a parking lot sees. You get the test reports from before the work and after it, so you can check the change yourself. We don't promise a score, because hosting, plugins you need and outside services all affect the number.
Where we work
All work is remote. We focus on small businesses in Houston, Orlando and Columbus and book calls in your local time.

Common questions
How much does a website or a speed rebuild cost?
It depends on the number of pages, how much content moves across, which features have to keep working (booking, payments, forms), and whether you need new copy or photos. We quote each job in writing after looking at your site or your notes.
Will my site look different after a speed rebuild?
Only if you want it to. A rebuild can keep the same layout, colors and wording. Most of the change happens in files visitors never see.
Do I have to change hosting?
Not always. Sometimes the host is fine and the pages are the problem. If the host is part of the issue, the quote explains why and what the options are.
Are the images on this site real client projects?
No. The gauges are concept drawings and the photos are labeled AI-generated samples. We don't show client work without permission.
